Married for over 40 years, Bill and his wife, Ginny, chose Fredericksburg to raise their daughters and really enjoy investing back into the community!

In 2019, the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce awarded Bill with the Prince B. Woodard award (an award given to men and women in the Fredericksburg area who demonstrates character, integrity, extraordinary service, and a commitment to the community).

Derrick brings to the team over 18 years of Human Resources experience and has been working with businesses in the Fredericksburg area since 2012.

I learned early on in my career that the way things got done in business and life was through relationships. Our mission and reputation are built on relationships and I am excited to continue that tradition of service in our community!”

Derrick is married to Aimee and, together, they have two young daughters. As a family they are involved in Christian Youth Theater- Fredericksburg (CYT). Derrick is a graduate of the Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Fredericksburg program, 2014.  He is also involved locally with Christian Business Mens Connection (CBMC).

Ann Blackann Group
Benefits Coordinator

Ann’s primary role is Group Benefit Coordinator and is very skilled in many aspects of Employee Benefits. She focuses on working through proposals, benefit designs, and renewals of group insurance plans. She also handles individual health insurance sales for our firm. Ann loves to travel and care for her family, especially the 4-legged members.

Scott E. Pettyjohn

Scott began his career in Fredericksburg in 1999. He is an active member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) and has been the president of the local NAIFA-Fredericksburg association in 2002, 2007, and 2014.

“I enjoy meeting with business owners and their employees one-on-one. I help them navigate their benefits and I can make sure they coordinate and fill gaps in their personal planning.”

Marketing and Business Development

Tyler’s main role at the company is to craft and maintain an online presence for McAvinney Employee Benefit Solutions, and to expand the business using online marketing and social media. He has been married to Christy for 5.5 years, has a 2-year old son, Elliot, and recently welcomed their newest son, Coen. Tyler loves to explore new places – especially outside the U.S. and playing any sport with a frisbee.
